I respect the Geneva Convention. No Russian will be tortured or humiliated under my gaze. Russian soldiers wounded or in captivity will be treated humanely. Just like in the other wars in which I participated.

There are a lot of photographs of Russian prisoners in circulation. According to many, this is a violation of the Geneva Convention. Personally, I didn't know so I took the trouble to check, because I don't want to contribute to making this conflict even more inhuman.

It does not seem prohibited to publish photographs of Russian prisoners, if these prisoners are not in a particularly humiliating position, for example as a result of torture or ill-treatment.

I have not found any judgment that condemns the publication of photos of prisoners in general. I even found a large number of inconsequential precedents and legal opinions that say it's not illegal. The Red Cross has issued opinions against posting photos in past conflicts, but the context was different and no legal action was taken, at least to my knowledge.

The Geneva Convention is a matter of “good common sense”: you just have to use your “heart” and treat those who do not fight or can no longer fight well.

A true warrior does not fight the human.
