从酒馆出来，我们看到街道上布满了X形的反坦克障碍物，这让我们想起了诺曼底登陆的历史场景：看起来很现代化的商业场所前面堆积着沙袋——离麦当劳和加油站都不远。

Today we are closer to the front. Surely you think I get shot all the time and shells burst around me? It is not so!

In fact, I'm being treated like a princess right now. I was even able to take a long hot shower! An average Ukrainian gave us access to a building that was closed during the war. Yesterday, I was crossing places that are beginning to see the dawn of a famine. Today I ate a full meal in a pub! Yet today I am closer to the front!

Coming out of the pub, we saw the streets filled with anti-tank obstacles in the shape of X which remind us of the Normandy landings. Sandbags are piled up in front of modern-looking businesses, not far from McDonalds and gas stations.
